About the Artist
Daniel Morris was born in 1979 in Pittsburgh, PA and started drawing shortly thereafter. He attended Rogers Middle School for the Creative and Performing arts, The Pittsburgh High School for the Creative and Performing Arts (CAPA), and then in Columbus Ohio he attended The Columbus College of Art and Design (CCAD) where he majored in Media Studies.
The Painted Ladies Collection was an idea he toyed around with while in college. Painting live models, Daniel studied how the human form would become subtle in some ways and dramatic in other ways while in front of a background painted with the same design. Adding a touch of photorealism, he transferred his ideas to canvas and began a collection of contemporary works, mainly focusing on form and the illusion of form.
He currently lives on the west side of Oahu, where he continues to work on his Painted Ladies Collection.
